THEISM

  1. No finite thing can come from nothing. Every finite thing has a beginning. Every finite thing was caused.

  2. If every finite thing has a beginning, then there was a point in time when no finite thing existed.

  3. For the first finite thing to exist there must exist something that caused it into existence. A first cause. A prime mover.

  4. This first cause or prime mover is self-existent and infinite, as its existence can not be dependent on, nor can it be limited by any other cause.

  5. This "uncaused cause" must exist in order for anything else to exist. The reason why there is something rather than nothing.

  6. And this we understand to be God.
